The Italian Riviera is full of sleepy little villages, wonderful fresh mediterranean food, local wines and seaside towns that aren't full of tourists.
We love introducing our clients to Liguria (the region closest to France) and helping them to live a truly Italian experience.
THE ITINERARY :
1st STOP - The Principality of Seborga
Less than an hours drive along the motorway from Nice, you will arrive in Seborga and be able to explore its labyrinth of side-streets and cobblestone paths that lead to all corners of this village with its quirky history. Then sit back and enjoy a real Italian cappuccino while taking in the panoramic views over the Italian Riviera.
Leaving Seborga, your Friend in France guide will take you downhill to the seaside town of Bordighera with its palm trees and Belle Epoque elegance.
2nd STOP – Dolceacqua
After a pretty drive along the Nervia River, you will arrive at the exceptional village of Dolceacqua, perched on a spur at the foot of the Rebuffao mountain. …a firm favourite with Claude Monet and Friend in France!
Cross the historic bridge, to take a casual walk into the heart of the town with its amazing architecture, stunning views, artist’s galleries, countryside pathways and the Dolceacqua castle. If you fancy a local lunch, a visit to one of the charming river-side restaurants is a must - you won’t be able to resist trying some authentic Italian delicacies.
Before leaving the village, your guide will take you to visit a specialist wine supplier where you will have the chance to try the local Rossese di Dolceacqua wine, said to have been one of Napoleon’s favourite tipples.
3rd STOP – La Grande Corniche Panoramas
The Homebound journey takes you along the famous Grande Corniche coastal route, which boasts the very best views of Menton, Monaco, Eze village and St Jean Cap Ferrat.
